JUNE 14, 15 & 16 AT TORONTO’S KOERNER HALL

WHAT:
Each June in Toronto, Moses Znaimer hosts 50 of the world’s brightest minds for a three-day conference that celebrates ideas that can change the world. Called “Canada’s Meeting of the Minds”, ideacity gives each speaker 17-minutes on stage to give it their all.

This is Moses’ 18th annual conference and eighteen has a special meaning.

In the Hebrew alphabet, you can assign a numerical value to a Hebrew word simply by giving each letter its sequential number: Aleph (A)=1, Bet (B)=2, and so on.

You get to 18 by adding 8 and 10. In Hebrew, the 8th letter and 10th letter spell out the word CHAI (rhymes with sky), which means “life.”

It seemed like the perfect theme for this year’s conference – so much so, ideacity has been given it a temporary nickname: CHAIDEACITY. So TO LIFE, FOR LIFE! Is this year’s theme and what better way to kick it off DAY 1 than with a day of speakers on life sciences, food, and religion.

WHERE:
Koerner Hall, 273 Bloor Street West (in the Royal Conservatory of Music)
