Who you are
You’re an experienced Social Media Coordinator and Content Creator with a passion for local journalism and storytelling looking to make an impact across multiple brands while being part of a supportive and Collaborative team. You have hands-on experience creating engaging content, growing online communities, and analyzing performance to optimize social media growth on TikTok, Instagram and other social media platforms. You are self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and possess the ability to work independently. You have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple brands/accounts simultaneously without compromising quality and are a team player with a collaborative mindset, adaptable in a fast-changing environment and you’re detail-oriented with a knack for understanding brand identity and tone.
Additionally, you’re comfortable working with a range of city-centric news, lifestyle and culture content that may include breaking news, housing and real estate, events, food and restaurants, nightlife, shopping, local travel and outdoors and the history of a city.
What you’ll do
- Create and post social media content daily according to established targets and guidelines.
- Work with applicable team members to ensure content on various accounts and social platforms is distributed according to the agreed strategy and tactics.
- Enforce brand standards and guidelines and adherence to templates and best practices to ensure consistency.
- Create engaging and relevant content for diverse audiences across various platforms, including text graphics, videos, and stories.
- Plan and schedule social media posts across platforms using scheduling tools to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across all social media platforms in a timely and professional manner, fostering community engagement and positive brand sentiment.
- Assist with quality assurance of individual content pieces, including editing copy and graphics.
- Working with various teams to facilitate and execute video distribution across multiple social media platforms.
What you have
- Proven experience (3+ years) in social media management across multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
- A keen-eye for compelling and impactful visual content including photography and video and the ability to effectively and concisely tell a story on social media through words and images.
- Strong content creation skills including graphics and copywriting.
- Deep experience working with content and distribution and community engagement on Instagram and TikTok. Additional experience with platforms such as YouTube, X, Facebook and Snap is an asset.
- Proficiency with social media management tools and Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Later, Iconosquare, Meta Business Suite, etc.
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Meta/Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, etc.) to track and measure performance.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with a strong attention to detail.Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment with quick turnarounds and deadlines.
- An ability to work weekend and evenings totalling 40-hours per week.
- Familiarity with the Google Suite, Capcut and Adobe suite is also an asset.
- Familiarity with storytelling on social media platforms as well as graphic design skills are an asset.
