Who You Are
You’re a video editor and producer with a passion for local journalism and storytelling looking to make an impact across multiple brands while being part of a supportive and collaborative team. You have hands-on experience creating engaging content, growing online communities, and analyzing performance to optimize social media growth on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms. You are self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and possess the ability to work independently. You have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality and are a team player with a collaborative mindset, adaptable in a fast-changing environment and you’re detail-oriented with a knack for understanding brand identity and tone.
What You'll Do
- Post-production editing on various social video assignments day-to-day;
- Audio editing/mixing and colour-grading where applicable;
- Upload and organize project and footage on the video team’s hot and cold storage management systems;
- Pitch video ideas based on current affairs; brand scope; and audience;
- Motion graphics editing and ideation where applicable;
- Provide on-site production assistance where applicable on various assignments week-to-week where applicable;
- Collaborate on team-wide projects and initiatives when applicable;
- Participate in team-wide meetings with the video team, discussing weekly assignments; pitches; revisions; and more
What You Have
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a demand for Premiere Pro; knowledge in After Effects; experience with Photoshop/Illustrator; and baseline knowledge of Media Encoder;
- The ability to work weekends and evenings
- A keen attitude and hunger to tell stories
- Strong literacy when it comes to social video is a must. The ideal candidate is someone who consumes content daily and can identify what separates a good social video from an excellent one.
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills is a must;
- Candidate is a self-starter and can work independently and/or collaborate with the team when required;
- A hawk-eye attention to detail, from video quality control to basic copy editing skills;
